Researchers have developed HazardWeaver, a new AI agent designed to automate hazard analysis by selecting appropriate scientific methods based on available data and tools. The system uses a Hazard Knowledge Compiler to extract evidence-linked conditions and a Hazard Capability Graph to represent executable scientific capabilities. HazardWeaver can dynamically revise its route selections as new information becomes available. A benchmark comprising 141 instances across seven hazard domains was created to evaluate HazardWeaver, which demonstrated superior performance compared to existing agent systems, particularly in scenarios with multiple valid scientific routes.
