AI agent BioCheck Agent generates detailed biomedical fact-checking reports

Researchers have developed a new AI agent called BioCheck Agent, designed to generate detailed fact-checking reports for biomedical information. This agent utilizes an enhanced search strategy, exclusively querying PubMed for scientific literature and employing advanced Boolean operators. To improve accuracy and reduce hallucinations, BioCheck Agent is trained using Evidence-Grounded Group Relative Policy Optimization (EG-GRPO), a reinforcement learning technique. Experiments show that BioCheck Agent, built upon the Qwen3.5-4B model, significantly outperforms its base version in label prediction accuracy, evidence quality, and hallucination reduction on the SciFact dataset.
