Boomers actually do hold most of the wealth and power. So why do they call it ‘whiny’ to point that out?
A study by researchers Stéphane Francioli, Felix Danbold, and Michael North published in Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin reveals a generational divide in animosity between Baby Boomers and Millennials. Millennials' hostility stems from realistic threats, such as Boomers' control over wealth and power hindering their own life prospects, supported by Federal Reserve data. Conversely, Boomers' animosity is rooted in symbolic threats, perceiving Millennials as challenging their cultural values and worldview, rather than economic disparities. AI
