Project CETI has developed an autonomous underwater glider equipped with AI to track sperm whales by their vocalizations. This system allows for extended, minimally invasive monitoring of whale populations and their communication patterns. The glider's AI processes acoustic data in real-time to identify and follow whale sounds, enabling researchers to collect unprecedented long-term data on whale behavior and social structures. AI
IMPACT Enables long-term, non-invasive study of whale communication and behavior, potentially unlocking new insights into marine biology.
