Anthropic releases powerful Fable 5 AI model with safety guardrails

Anthropic has released Claude Fable 5, a public version of its powerful Mythos-class AI model, incorporating safeguards to prevent misuse in sensitive areas like cybersecurity and biology. While Fable 5 offers advanced capabilities in software engineering, knowledge work, and vision, certain queries will be rerouted to the less capable Claude Opus 4.8 model. A more unrestricted version, Claude Mythos 5, is also available to select partners through Project Glasswing.
