Retro gamer fails to load Sega Genesis games via vinyl record

By PulseAugur Editorial · [2 sources] ·

A retro gaming enthusiast, known online as Throaty Mumbo, attempted to load Sega Genesis games by recording the game data as sound onto a vinyl record. The project utilized a Mega EverDrive Pro and a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 board to bridge the turntable to the console. While successfully loading games from cassette tape using a similar method, the attempt with vinyl failed due to the lo-fi limitations of the chosen turntable, which could not reliably store and play back the data without corruption.
