Researchers have introduced ImagineAgent, a novel framework designed to enhance open-vocabulary human-object interaction (HOI) comprehension in multimodal large language models. The agent addresses limitations such as cross-modal hallucinations and restricted viewpoints by integrating cognitive mapping, tool-augmented reinforcement learning, and generative world modeling. A new CoT dataset, hicodet-6K, was created for supervised fine-tuning, and a multimodal tool library was developed to dynamically augment reasoning with online retrieval, image cropping, and generative modeling capabilities. Evaluations on SWIG-HOI and HICO-DET datasets show that ImagineAgent achieves state-of-the-art performance while using significantly less training data than existing methods. AI
IMPACT This framework could lead to more robust and efficient multimodal AI agents capable of complex visual reasoning and interaction understanding.
