Researchers have developed Poseidon, an automated pipeline designed to generate a large number of diverse and verifiable training environments for scientific agents by extracting them from scientific code repositories. This method decomposes scientific workflows into four distinct task types, significantly increasing the number of environments compared to previous approaches. The resulting collection, named Pearl, comprises over 97,000 environments from 7,110 repositories across 10 scientific disciplines, making it the largest and most multidisciplinary collection of its kind to date. Models trained on Pearl, such as Qwen3.5 variants, have demonstrated consistent improvements on six scientific-agent benchmarks. AI
IMPACT This work could accelerate the development of scientific discovery agents by providing a scalable method for creating diverse training environments.
