New CAVC framework accelerates audio-visual generation with asymmetric caching

Researchers have developed a new framework called Convergence-Adaptive Audio-Visual Cache (CAVC) to accelerate audio-visual generation models. CAVC leverages the observation that audio-side computations are more tolerant to caching than video-side computations. By selectively caching audio denoiser outputs in the middle stages of generation while allowing the video branch to refine independently, and then restoring a few joint steps at the end, CAVC achieves significant wall-clock acceleration. Experiments show it can speed up generation by 1.10--1.35x while maintaining audio fidelity and improving visual dynamics. AI

IMPACT This framework could lead to faster and more efficient generation of audio-visual content, potentially reducing computational costs and enabling new applications.

CAVC: Convergence-Adaptive Audio-Visual Cache for Modality-Asymmetric Diffusion Generation

arXiv:2610.30854v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Diffusion-based audio-visual generation methods typically perform joint denoising of audio and video latents throughout the entire sampling trajectory, repeatedly executing modality-specific denoising branches and cross-modal attent…
