BridgeAfford framework enhances 3D affordance grounding generalization

Researchers have developed BridgeAfford, a new framework designed to improve the generalization of language-guided 3D affordance grounding. This method addresses the semantic gap between query features and target-region features, which hinders performance on unseen objects. BridgeAfford employs Interaction Region Alignment to align similar interaction regions across different objects and Visual Evidence Aggregation to refine attention and guide queries toward the correct regions. Experiments on the LASO and PIAD datasets show that BridgeAfford significantly outperforms existing methods, especially on novel objects. AI

IMPACT Improves the ability of AI systems to understand and interact with 3D objects based on natural language instructions.

BridgeAfford: Bridging Query-Target Gap for Generalizable 3D Affordance Grounding

arXiv:2610.21918v1 Announce Type: cross Abstract: Language-guided 3D affordance grounding aims to localize functional regions on 3D objects according to interaction intents. However, existing methods exhibit poor generalization to unseen objects. One challenge is the query-target…
