New AI model simulates social media behavior using psychology and memory

Researchers have developed PsyMemBehav, a novel system designed to simulate social media behavior by integrating psychological profiles and memory retrieval. This system maps user descriptors and memories to actions like commenting, liking, or reposting on platforms such as Reddit, Bluesky, and X. To train and evaluate PsyMemBehav, a dataset named PsyMemBehav-bench was created, comprising 5.57 million behaviors from over 5,800 real users. Experiments demonstrated that PsyMemBehav significantly improved response quality compared to GPT-5.4 and achieved superior performance in group-level behavior simulation. AI

IMPACT This research could lead to more sophisticated AI agents capable of understanding and predicting human behavior on social platforms.

    PsyMemBehav: Psychology-Informed and Memory-Grounded Two-Level Identity-to-Action Reasoning for Social-Media Behavior Simulation

arXiv:2610.14570v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: Large language models (LLMs) support social simulation, but faithfully reproducing real users requires grounding both structured platform decisions and language in sparse, noisy behavioral evidence. We introduce PsyMemBehav, which m…
