New meta-requirements aim to standardize AI robustness auditing

Researchers have developed a set of 44 meta-requirements to guide the creation and assessment of AI robustness auditing frameworks. These higher-order requirements, derived from a systematic literature review of 2,890 records and validated by 128 practitioners, aim to ensure AI systems remain dependable under changing operational conditions. The meta-requirements cover 16 categories and received strong agreement from practitioners, with 41 of the initial 43 requirements being strongly supported. Feedback from experts also led to the inclusion of an additional requirement concerning external components and supply chain dependencies. AI

IMPACT Provides a structured framework to improve the dependability and trustworthiness of AI systems.

Actionable Meta-Requirements for AI Robustness Auditing

arXiv:2610.14356v1 Announce Type: new Abstract: AI-enabled systems must remain dependable when the conditions under which they operate change (e.g., due to input perturbations, distribution shifts, or changes in external dependencies). This makes robustness auditing of such syste…
