New WZDrive predictor enhances autonomous driving in construction zones

Researchers have developed a new multimodal ego-trajectory predictor called WZDrive to improve autonomous driving in road construction zones. This predictor utilizes a novel dataset, WZDrive-Data, which includes 1,183 driving segments from 33 drivers, collected using a human-in-the-loop driving simulator. The system incorporates driver control and gaze signals alongside vehicle trajectories and scene information to enhance prediction accuracy. WZDrive demonstrated a 7.18% reduction in minADE (K=6) and a 13.18% reduction in minFDE (K=6) compared to existing state-of-the-art baselines, addressing a significant gap in autonomous driving research.
