Nvidia pilots distributed AI data centers to manage power demand

By PulseAugur Editorial · [1 sources] ·

Nvidia is piloting a new approach to AI data center infrastructure by building small, modular data centers near utility substations. These 5-20 megawatt facilities will dynamically shift computation based on local power availability, aiming to utilize spare grid capacity. This strategy could help alleviate the growing demand for electricity from AI, which is projected to consume a significant portion of U.S. generation by 2030. AI

IMPACT Addresses critical AI infrastructure bottleneck by optimizing power usage and potentially accelerating deployment.
