Meta Muse Spark 1.2 Contributor model now globally available at discount

By PulseAugur Editorial · [1 sources] ·

Meta's Muse Spark 1.2 Contributor model is now globally accessible, offering a significant discount compared to its previous limited availability. This model, previously restricted to the US or requiring specific routers like Nano-GPT, can now be accessed through OpenRouter. It claims to outperform OpenAI's Luna and DeepSeek in price and performance. However, users opting for the 'Contributor' version are essentially selling their data for Meta's future model training, a trade-off that raises ethical questions despite potential open-weight benefits. AI

IMPACT This release offers a more affordable option for accessing advanced AI models, potentially lowering the barrier for developers and researchers.
