OpenAI has launched a new "Computer History" feature for its ChatGPT desktop application on Mac. This feature records user activity, including clicks and keystrokes, across apps and websites to create a personalized timeline. The data is stored locally and can be used to improve future interactions and suggest automations, building on the Chronicle research preview with enhanced privacy controls. While opt-in and offering options to clear history or exclude specific apps, the feature has drawn comparisons to Microsoft Recall and raised privacy considerations.
