Chinese AI firms focus on logic and reasoning at IJCAI 2026

By PulseAugur Editorial · [1 sources] ·

The 35th International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence (IJCAI 2026) in Bremen, Germany, will focus on "System 2" thinking, emphasizing logic and reasoning over sheer scale. Despite a downgrade in its classification by the China Computer Federation, Chinese institutions, including major tech companies, are heavily involved, presenting research in areas like knowledge representation, planning, and optimization. Companies such as Ant Group, Meituan, JD.com, Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba, and Huawei are showcasing work on multi-agent systems, neuro-symbolic AI, and explainability, aiming to solve practical business challenges and establish technical sovereignty.
