Anthropic's Claude Opus 5 shows mixed results, leads intelligence benchmarks
ByPulseAugur Editorial·[126 sources]·
Anthropic has released Claude Opus 5, which is being integrated into various products like Claude Code. Early users report mixed experiences, with some finding it highly agentic and capable of complex tasks, while others describe it as "ignorant" and prone to ignoring instructions or breaking workflows. Despite some user frustrations, Opus 5 leads the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, outperforming other models in intelligence metrics, though its cost-effectiveness is being compared against competitors like GPT-5.6 Sol.

IMPACTOpus 5's agentic nature may redefine prompt engineering, while its benchmark performance sets a new standard, though user experience remains a point of contention.

So what changes?

I quit using Opus 5 after the first few sessions.
I can only explain it as a very "ignorant" model. It does stuff I didn't ask for. It ignores my skills and some of my tools. It broke pretty much all my workflows/loops.
What a weird model. Not feeling it.
