New 3D Gaussian Splatting Methods Enhance Scene Editing, Reconstruction, and Animation

Recent research explores advancements in 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) for scene editing, reconstruction, and animation. LB-Edit introduces attention-guided camera placement and multi-view alignment for more precise 3D scene editing. ATSplat enhances feed-forward 3DGS by using adaptive 3D tokens to improve scene complexity representation and reduce Gaussian count. ZeroSplat generalizes referring segmentation in 3DGS to handle multiple targets and improves efficiency by lifting 2D vision-language model priors into 3D space. CGGS focuses on ego-centric 3D scene generation with consistency-augmented losses and improved geometric reconstruction. 3D-GIMP combines diffusion models with PatchMatch for high-fidelity object removal in 3DGS, prioritizing consistency and speed. GrainGS addresses dynamic scene reconstruction by combining a hierarchical anchor scaffold with per-Gaussian deformation and gradient decoupling for efficient motion modeling. Lastly, HumanGS provides a feed-forward framework for real-time human reconstruction and animation from sparse multi-view images and pose data.
