Maker builds interactive C-3PO head using AI and Raspberry Pi

By PulseAugur Editorial · [4 sources] ·

Samuel Potozkin has created a functional C-3PO head using a Raspberry Pi 5, integrating real-time speech-to-text, a large language model for interpretation, and text-to-speech synthesis to mimic the iconic voice. While the replica can converse, it exhibits a slight delay in responses and its patter is not perfectly aligned with the character's movie persona. The project's build materials are available on Google Drive and Github. AI

IMPACT Demonstrates a novel application of LLMs for character replication in robotics.
