Moiré effect offers physical signature to detect AI-generated video

Researchers have developed a novel method to authenticate real videos against AI-generated content by leveraging the Moiré effect. This physical signature, produced by the interference fringes when a camera views a specific grating structure, is naturally present in real footage but difficult for current AI video generators to replicate.
