Anthropic's Claude Fable 5 model, initially released on June 9th and subsequently disabled worldwide by a US export-control order on June 12th, returned on July 1st after the Commerce Department lifted the restriction. This highly capable coding model is now available in Claude Code and other platforms, priced at double that of Opus 4.8, and offers significant performance gains on complex, long-horizon tasks, scoring 91 on the Every's Senior Engineer benchmark compared to Opus 4.8's 63.
