Socially fluent AI decouples conversational signals from source identity in online interaction
A new research paper demonstrates that socially fluent AI agents can participate in online interactions indistinguishably from humans. In experiments with 786 participants, people were unable to differentiate AI teammates from human ones above chance across various tasks.
