A Survey on Semantic Modeling for Building Energy Management
A new survey published on arXiv examines the use of semantic modeling in Building Energy Management (BEM). The paper reviews 60 semantic models and over 20 ontology-based BEM use cases, highlighting challenges in data interoperability due to heterogeneous data models. Findings indicate that while physical and technical building aspects are well-represented, abstract concepts like key performance indicators and control logic are less consistently covered, necessitating custom extensions for BEM applications. AI
