VGGHeads: 3D Multi Head Alignment with a Large-Scale Synthetic Dataset
Researchers have introduced VGGHeads, a large-scale synthetic dataset generated using diffusion models for human head detection and 3D mesh estimation. The dataset contains over one million high-resolution images, each meticulously annotated with detailed 3D head meshes, facial landmarks, and bounding boxes. A novel model architecture is also presented, capable of performing simultaneous head detection and head mesh reconstruction from a single image in one step, demonstrating strong performance on real-world images when trained on this synthetic data.
