ThousandWorlds: A benchmark for climate emulation of potentially habitable exoplanets
Researchers have introduced ThousandWorlds, a new benchmark dataset designed to advance machine learning for exoplanet climate emulation. The dataset comprises approximately 1800 simulations from five different global climate models, mapping planetary parameters to atmospheric fields. This resource aims to overcome the computational and expertise bottlenecks associated with traditional climate modeling, enabling more efficient analysis of exoplanet atmospheres for signs of life.
