Researchers have developed SpectraLDS, a novel method for distilling linear dynamical systems (LDS) with provable accuracy guarantees. This approach leverages recent advancements in representing LDSs as learnable convolutions through spectral transformations. SpectraLDS allows for the inversion of this representation, enabling an end-to-end convex optimization process that maintains predictive accuracy while significantly improving inference efficiency to constant time and space per token, regardless of sequence length.
