Estimating Individualized Treatment Effects in Acute Ischemic Stroke with Causal Transformation Models (TRAM-DAG): A Multi-Centre Observational Study with External RCT Validation
A research paper, TRAM-DAG, was submitted to arXiv proposing a method for estimating individualized treatment effects in acute ischemic stroke patients. The study aimed to determine which patients would benefit most from mechanical thrombectomy versus lysis, using the modified Rankin Scale as an outcome measure. While the paper has since been withdrawn by its author, Oliver Dürr, it demonstrated the potential of causal transformation models on directed acyclic graphs to bridge observational data and clinical trial findings.
