RISE: Single Static Radar-based Indoor Scene Understanding
Researchers have introduced RISE, a novel system and benchmark for understanding indoor environments using a single, static radar sensor. Unlike optical sensors, radar offers privacy and can penetrate obstacles, but typically has low spatial resolution. RISE leverages multipath reflections, often treated as noise, to enhance geometric reasoning for both layout reconstruction and object detection.
