Want to get a data center online quickly? Give it some flex.
A new software called Conductor, developed by Emerald AI, aims to address the growing energy demands of data centers by making them more flexible in their power consumption. This system allows data centers to temporarily reduce their energy usage during peak demand periods, such as when many people are using electricity simultaneously, thereby helping to prevent blackouts and grid strain. Emerald AI is partnering with major companies like Nvidia and Digital Realty Trust to deploy Conductor in facilities, positioning these as the first "power-flexible AI factories" and potentially easing the bottleneck in bringing new power generation online.
