When Seekers Are Hard to Help: Evaluating Emotional Support Dialogue Systems in Worst-Case Interactions
Researchers have developed a new framework called User-Aware Active Knowledge Acquisition (UKA) to improve emotional support dialogue systems. UKA uses a gradient-free approach and a Theory-of-Mind uncertainty estimation mechanism to actively learn from user interactions and prioritize responses that elicit more informative feedback.
