A Neuromorphic Trigger for Efficient Audio Event Detection
Researchers have developed a novel neuromorphic trigger, based on a spiking neural network (SNN), designed to efficiently process continuous audio streams. This trigger acts as a low-cost front-end, identifying salient audio segments and forwarding them to more computationally intensive models, thereby reducing overall computational cost.
