France to ditch Palantir’s AI data tools in favour of domestic provider
France's domestic intelligence service will replace AI data tools from the US company Palantir with those from a French firm, ChapsVision. Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu stated this move is to avoid strategic dependency on foreign technology and to build national autonomy in the digital sphere. This decision reflects a broader European concern about reliance on US-controlled technologies, with Germany's internal security service also reportedly selecting ChapsVision. Palantir, co-founded by Peter Thiel, has faced scrutiny over surveillance risks and has seen other government contracts reviewed or blocked. AI
